Daisy Braid — aka DIY Daisy — is a content creator, textile artist, and author based on the Gold Coast/Yugambeh Country. Known for her colourful, creative style, Daisy blends handmade clothing with fairly made and second-hand fashion.

Her debut book, Sew It Yourself (Hardie Grant, 2022), is stocked internationally at retailers including The MET, Liberty of London, Blackbird Fabrics, and Kinokuniya. She has collaborated with brands such as Brother, Cricut, Nikon, Who Gives A Crap, The Fabric Store, Salvos Stores, The Fine Cloth Company, and Garage Sale Trail.

A self-taught sewist, Daisy first learned on her grandmother’s machine, customising op-shop finds and sewing with remnants from her fashion designer aunt. After a move to New Zealand reignited her teenage passion, she launched DIY Daisy — an online space for sharing pattern-free sewing projects and crafty tutorials. Now back on the Gold Coast, Daisy runs craft workshops — from sewing to Bead It Yourself upcycled jewellery making — with a focus on making creativity joyful, accessible, and sustainable.
