Me Made: McCalls 7964

Liberty prints, big sleeves and gathers… Name a better combination! I just finished Isewlation make #11 and had to get dressed up to snap a photo and share it with you.

Pattern: I was on the hunt for a pattern to try and recreate something like this and during a late night deep internet search I found the McCalls 7946. I only had enough fabric for a top so I shortened the pattern. It does use A LOT of bias binding and elastic so next time I will try and make it without bias binding casings. It was a pretty easy make and it was cool to learn a new technique to get even gathers. I’m still pretty happy with the result and I feel very fancy wearing it.

Fabric: Liberty Of London Port Sea Voile Abbey Pool Y.
This Liberty fabric was gifted to me by the lovely Bronwyn from Canberra. She knitted me a beautiful wool beanie and very kindly included 2m of this fabric from her stash. I didn’t have anything purple in my me made wardrobe so I am very excited to finally add some in.

I’m wearing this top with Isewlation Make #10, a Tessuti Evie Bias Skirt that I made with Marmalade Linen from The Fabric Store. My first bias skirt and definitely not my last
