Here’s Isewlation make #9, a comfy brown wrap skirt with a cute split up the front. I was inspired to try and make a skirt like this one by Paloma Wool that I saw on Pinterest. I’ve already spilled my smoothie on this skirt and it’s been through the wash once too…. I can tell it’s going to be well worn!

Pattern: Instead of using my go to wrap skirt pattern, I wanted to try hacking the free Wrap Skirt pattern by In The Folds for Peppermint Magazine. I just cut the back pattern piece in half and added about 8cm so that I could fold it over twice where the split is. I also lengthened my pattern by about 10cm. I cut the size G and french seamed my skirt but I still think I could have gone one more size smaller to make those side seams hit straight down my sides. So technically, I’m wearing this skirt backwards but it works really well and I really like the front seam detail.

Fabric: I was able to make this with just 2m of The Fabric Store’s Acorn Vintage Wash Linen. I’ll definitely have to get my hands on a little bit more to make a matching top!

Spot the smoothie!
