Me Made: Mini Maya for Amaya

img_20200509_112123_1.jpg

My little sister Amaya requested another handmade creation so here it is! It’s a Rectangle Ruffle Sleeve Dress made in the most beautiful floral Liberty Tana Lawn. I also made a Tiktok of the process so check that out here if you want to see how it came together.

This dress was made following my Maya Dress tutorial and all I did to make it a dress was lengthen the bottom ruffles. I used just under 2m of Liberty Tana Lawn in a print called Jody A from The Fabric Store.

Amaya is an Australian size 8-10 and requested that the hem hit just at the tip of her fingers when her hands are held by her sides. She is about 165cm tall so if you want to give this DIY a try dont forget to adjust the length of the rectangles to fit you. Here are the dimensions of the rectangles I used. (Width x Height)

Sleeve Ruffles – 100cm x 25cm ( cut 2 )

Body – 50cm x 40cm ( cut 2 )

Skirt – 100cm x 50 ( cut 2 )

I had enough fabric left over to make myself a matching top so we could have a matching sister moment. Shes already claimed the top and requested one in her size too… Do all sisters do that haha?

If you give this DIY a try share it with me on Instagram @_diydaisy so I can see your creation
